“The College Quarterbacks Going into this college season, many draft analysts were saying that the 2018 quarterback class could be the best ever. We are about halfway through the college season, and reality is the quarterback class isn’t close to what many thought it would be, and is average at best. With many of these quarterbacks being underclassmen, there are a number of NFL decision-makers who are hoping that many in this group decide to stay in school, as that would be best for their development. The most disappointing players of this class have been USC quarterback Sam Darnold and Wyoming’s Josh Allen. Darnold’s play has been inconsistent at best and he has turned the ball over an inordinate amount of times. One of the reasons for his decline in play is that he lost most of the strong supporting cast he had a year ago. Without good players around him, Darnold has become “just a guy”.”
