“Bradford returning in Week 6, when the Vikings host the first place Packers, seems unlikely. It’s the latest piece of a Minnesota QB puzzle including no passers currently under contract beyond this season. Teddy Bridgewater, whose catastrophic knee injury in August of 2016 prompted the Vikings to acquire Bradford from the Eagles in exchange for first- and fourth-round picks, will soon be activated from the PUP list. Bradford played the game of his life in Week 1, completing 27-of-32 passes for 336 yards and three touchdowns, but suffered the injury to his previously surgically repaired knee. Keenum was strong in three of his four relief appearances, too, begging the question — could Bradford, one season after being acquired two weeks before the opener and going on to set the NFL’s single season completion percentage, find himself as the odd man out of the equation? Once Zimmer mercifully benched Bradford to close the first half with Minnesota leading 3-2, the offense opened up considerably. Keenum led 75- and 92-yard scoring drives on Minnesota’s first two second-half series and completed 17-of-21 for 140 yards, a touchdown and a 110.3 rating. “He did a great job executing,” McKinnon said of Keenum. “It’s real tough in this league to come into that situation and do what he did. Everybody believes in him, and he showed why.””
