Christian Kirk, Texas A and M – 1 Pass Broken Up In 2017 One of the more perplexing wide receivers in this class is Christian Kirk out of Texas A and M. Kirk took the nation by surprise as a freshman, catching 80 passes for more than 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. However, he wasn’t able to match that production over the past two seasons. Yet, one of the more impressive stats of the wide receiver group was that Kirk saw just one of his 107 targets broken up by a defensive back last season. Kirk was able to create so much consistent separation, especially out of the slot, that defensive backs were never in a position to make a play on the ball despite some shaky quarterback play. Kirk needs to refine his catching technique and prove that he can be more than just a slot receiver, but he can create instant separation with his quickness and route running. Quarterbacks on the next level are going to love playing with him because they know that he will always be open.
